Clematis ‘Niobe’

Most Clematis is deciduous, but there is an evergreen species, C. armandii, which grows to fifteen to twenty feet and has white, vanilla scented flowers in the spring.  It can take some sun, but also does well in the shade. One of the many deciduous clematis species, C. Montana, has about two inch wide pink flowers and grows to about twenty feet.  The best known Clematis are the large-flowered hybrids that come in all manner of colors from white to violet in single or double form.  Most of them grow to six to ten feet, twining around a support.  They like sun, but seem to appreciate some afternoon shade in our hot summers.  Regular water and feeding are necessary.

Rosa ‘Pink Promise’

Roses are one of the few shrubs that will bloom almost all season long and take the sun.  Removal of the spent flowers (deadheading), adequate water and regular feeding will encourage repeat blooming.

We stock roses all season in containers and we also have bareroot roses that arrive in early December.  See our bareroot website www.baylaurelnursery.com for this season’s rose selection.
